Yes, you can view our curriculum here. The only aspect of a secondary education that we can't provide on our Spring Street site is the ability to play badminton due to wind and low ceilings. Our DT curriculum meets the national curriculum and all sports can be played without grass.

Yes, we go one better, we have at least 2 after-school clubs each night from Monday to Thursday but also offer 'Choices' sessions on a Thursday morning. Choices run from 0900 - 0945 each Thursday and 100% of our students attend a club.

Current enrichment clubs include: Coding club; Netball; 3D Printing Club; Poetry by Heart; Chess; Card Magic; Football; Model UN; Board Game Club; Music Club; and Science Club. Our extra-curricular clubs change every 'big' term and Choices change every 6 weeks.

Our staffing model includes a Head of School supported by an Associate Assistant Principal responsible for our academy culture.

We then have a Head of Year; Head of Maths; Head of Science; Head of English; Head of History; and Head of DT.

We have already secured a SENCO to start in September 2024 alongside a Head of Music.

At the time of writing, we also have adverts for a Head of Geography; Teacher of PE; Teacher of MFL and Teacher of Maths and Computer Science.

Every child at our academy is supported by a Tutor who they meet with each morning. We also have a 360 Pastoral Year Team Manager and a Head of Year for each year group.

We will be looking to appoint your child's 360 over the coming months but Mr Church, your child's Head of Year, is already in post preparing for transition.

So far this year students have been involved with:

• Platform Train Trip - learning how to safely use trains at Temple Meads (many students get to school this way).
• Oliver Twist theatre performance at the Tobacco Factory.
• Streetwise theatre performance on our academy site.
• Traveling Lights Theatre Company Workshops.
• M-Shed and SS Great Britain Trip.
• Local History Group talks for our local area.
• Government Legal Department - 'How laws are made' workshop.
• Kew Gardens Geography Trip (March 2024).
• Bristol Aerospace Museum (July 2024).

We also have our first ski trip planned for January 2025 with Oasis Academy Brislington.

We are committed to ensuring our students can participate in and enjoy a range of trips and activities throughout the academic year.

We don't have a house system yet, but we will do in time. At present we have a few initiatives that students can become involved with:

• Student Academy Council - 2 representatives per tutor group.
• Culture Days (Christmas Dinner Day; Chinese New Year; Eid; Round the World Picnic) - on these days students can wear their cultural clothing and we eat meals as a family.
• RAG Day - Raising and Giving Day is an event organised by our Student Academy Council for their chosen charity. We will host 3 of these per year.
• Peripatetic lessons - We have an on-site Piano Teacher recommended by our parents in Jack Baldus. We are hoping to work with Jack to secure a drum teacher for 2024-25.

From September 2024 we will have an increased cohort, a PE specialist teacher and a minibus, which will help us enter more events. These may be combined year-group events (Years 7 and 8) so that we have a competitive team.
