Introducing our new Head of Maths - Mr Pease
We are very excited to start sharing information about our staff for next year. We have now appointed all of our teaching team and over the next few weeks will share information about each one so that you and your child can become familiar with us before September.
First to introduce Mr Pease our new Head of Mathematics.
'I’m looking forward to being Head of Maths at Temple Quarter and I come with experience teaching in a variety of secondary schools in Bristol and Somerset. Before this, I graduated from the University of Bristol, fell in love with the city and never left.
I first began working with children as a tennis coach and I also used to run adventure camps and children’s parties. I enjoy working with young people and helping them develop and reach their potential as individuals.
I love puzzles and problem-solving so one of my greatest pleasures as a teacher is to see a student grapple with a problem for an extensive period of time before finally, satisfyingly, getting to the solution. I enjoy challenging students in creative and interesting ways, always aiming to ensure that students attain a deep level of understanding.
I’m excited to begin at Oasis Academy Temple Quarter as it’s so unique to play a part in the journey of beginning a new school, especially one that will be at the heart of the city and a hub of opportunity for young people. I can’t wait to get started in September and meet the students and I am looking forward to helping them learn new concepts and develop a love for the subject.
Outside of school, I’m getting married in the Summer. In my spare time, I play as much football as possible and I’m also an avid Newcastle fan, looking forward to watching the Magpies in the Champions League next year!'
